Terms for using Commander, the cross-platform dual-pane file manager.

These terms apply to Commander, a desktop file manager published by Enver Biševac. By downloading, installing or using Commander, you agree to these terms.

License and use

Commander is distributed as shareware. The unregistered edition is fully functional and may show a startup reminder. A paid license removes that reminder and supports continued development.

You may install and use Commander for personal or professional file-management work. You may not reverse engineer, resell, repackage, sublicense or redistribute Commander except where allowed by applicable law or by written permission.

Your files and systems

Commander performs file operations that you request, including copy, move, delete, archive, conversion, encryption, cleanup, remote browsing and plugin operations. You are responsible for choosing the files, folders, remote connections and plugins you use with the app.

Some operations are destructive or security-sensitive. Review selections before deleting, cleaning, overwriting, encrypting, decrypting, installing plugins or working with remote systems.

Plugins and remote services

Commander can use plugins and remote connection profiles. Only install plugins from sources you trust. Remote credentials and connection details are handled by the app and the operating-system secret manager where supported, but you remain responsible for the accounts, buckets, servers and keys you configure.

Updates

Commander may check the public release manifest to show or install available updates. Updates may change, add or remove features.

Disclaimer

Commander is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. No software can guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect compatibility or prevention of data loss.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Enver Biševac is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue or business arising from use of Commander.
